HOW TO PLAY?

IN A NUTSHELL🥜

🐿️ Welcome to TOTALLY NUTS! 🌰

Prepare for the ultimate fight that will determine which kingdom is the most powerful. In the Strategy Phase, you build up your army: train your courageous leader and unlock spectacular powers, or build a large training camp where you train hordes of squirrel knights.

Afterward, you dive into the Combat Phase, where your tactics and the strength of your units determine who wins the battle and conquers the coveted acorns.

Put on your armor, brush your bushy tail, and join the battle for those highly sought-after acorns!

The Strategy Phase

Each game round consists of Phase 1, the Strategy Phase, and optionally a Phase 2, the Combat Phase. These game rounds are explained in this instruction.

You have four glorious choices in the Strategy Phase, of which you may choose one.

Upgrade Trainingcamp

A good training camp is the foundation of every successful squirrel army. A Level 1 camp might only give you some enthusiastic amateur gnawers, but if you upgrade it to a higher level, the elite squirrel warriors will appear, who can make even a squirrel wizard shake in his tiny boots.

Train your leader

A leader who doesn’t train is just a luxurious squirrel in an overpriced coat. By training your leader, they grow stronger and can add extra power to your army during battles. A Level 2 leader is an enthusiastic shouter, but a Level 5 leader? They make entire troops shake with fear.

Recruite squirrel knights

If your training camp is already at a decent level, you can immediately recruit some fighters. From peace-loving priest squirrels to lightning-fast ninja squirrels, everyone wants a spot in your fighting army. You may choose your own fighters by drawing cards from the combat cards pile.

Gain leader powers

Leader powers make the difference between a standard skirmish and a legendary warfare. The higher your leader’s level, the stronger their powers. A leader with the right powers can make enemies tremble, inspire allies, and cause chaos in a way that even Mother Nature didn’t see coming. You may choose your own leader powers by drawing cards from the leader powers pile.

Combat cards

Every combat card has a specific Value. The card’s Value indicates how much a card costs. In addition, every combat card has a Strength and a Special Power. The Spear Fighter has a Value (cost) of 1, a Strength of 1, and this Strength is increased to 2 if the card is placed opposite a Rider.

Leader powers

Just like with the combat cards, the Value of a Leader Power indicates how much the card costs. These are special powers that the leader can acquire. Power Cards can be very strong in combination with your army. The card states when the card must be played during the game. It also specifies which power is activated by the card.

The difference between the leader powers and the combat cards is that combat cards go back in the draw pile after they are played, while leader powers can only be used once during the game. Each player has their own draw pile of leader cards.
